Halloween scavenger hunts are both exciting and spooky and aren't as complicated as you might think. You basically have two options: a scavenger hunt for kids and a scavenger hunt for adults.

Scavenger Hunt for Kids
What you need to do first is sit down and make a list of all the things you want to be found. This will include things you have to hide (like a bottle of blood) and things that can be found on their own (a red leaf). Type up a few lists with the items on it and that's all the preparation you need! It's a good idea for each list to have seperate items on it so you won't have to have three or four of everything.

On the day (or night!) of your hunt hide all the items before your guests arrive. When everyone's ready split them up into a few groups and hand out the lists and let them be off. The first group back with all their items wins a prize!

Scavenger Hunt for Adults
Like the kids version, you first need to make a list. But this list can be much more varied and strange because you won't have to actually have any of the items to hide! Have several digital or polaroid cameras avaliable for each group of guests and instruct them that pictures should be taken of objects they absolutly cannot collect; such as a house decorated for Halloween or a stop sign. And the stop sign is debatable... Also tell your guests that they may purchase an item if need be, but they have to pay for it themselves, thus insuring them to beg, barter, and otherwise really hunt for things. Give a time limit and then release your guest out into the night!
