There's more to do at a Halloween party than playing games and eating. Below you'll find some other ideas to occupy your guests.
Jack O' Lantern carving:
Have lots of mini pumpkins and carving tools on hand and have everyone divide up into several teams to see who can carve the best jack o' lantern.
Prizes can be given out for scariest, silliest, fastest finished, and so on. Be sure to have adult supervision if little ones are participating.
Haunted House Building:
Pre-made haunted gingerbread house kits are fun and easy to make. For young ones, you could alternate haunted houses for decorating
Halloween shaped cookies.
Pass the Corpse:
Everyone loves a little scare on Halloween, right? Well, this ghoulish activity is apt to draw giggles and gasps alike. In separate containers
gather the parts of a corpse and pass them around for your guests to feel. It should be pitch black and either absolutely silent, or with spooky
music or sounds playing in the background. Body parts could include: yarn or corn silk for hair, a small peeled tomato for a heart, peeled grapes
for eyes, dried corn for teeth, a cooked and oiled cauliflower for a brain, cooked spaghetti noodles for intestines and corn syrup for blood. As an
alternate for passing around various bowls you could make the shape of a person with old clothes and newspaper stuffing and insert the food
in the proper parts on the "body" then cover it with an old sheet and cut holes for guests to stick their hands in.
Scary Movies:
Especially fun for a teen party is to have scary movies playing in the background. Try the old black and white classics like Dracula, Frankenstein,
The Wolf Man, and Night of the Living Dead.
Scavenger Hunts:
Scavenger hunts are fun ANY time of year but an especially spooky Halloween themed scavenger hunt can be just what your party needs!
